Dream Media Company
Dream Media Company owns Dream TV and is owned by businessman Ahmed Bahgat. However, the relations between Dream Media, Dream Group and Bahgat Group are not clear.
There have been rumors that Dream TV would be sold. In 2014, the MBC Group made a bid to buy Dream TV but Baghat refused it. It was then rumored that the channel would be sold to Abu Hashima, the founder of the Egyptian Media Group. But in 2016, Bahgat denied this information in an interview with Al-Masry Al-Youm. He stated: "So far there is no sale or intention to sell, and this does not mean that there will never be offers to buy it one day." In September 2018 however, Bahgat mentioned that Dream TV would partner with one of the state's entities.
Bahgat said MBC made a bid to buy Dream Channels in 2014 but he rejected it. Bahgat was one of the businessmen who helped finance Al Masry Al Youm newspaper when it was launched in 2004.
