Home Media Company
Home Media owns DRN radio station, which was closed in 2018. Up until is was closed, it was part of the Falcon Group, a company providing security services for government authorities, diplomatic missions as well as UN offices in Egypt. DRN frequency is now being used by ON Sport radio owned by the Egyptian Media Group. This change in ownership happened without any announcement of a deal between Falcon Group, which has not confirmed abandoning its media activity in favor of Egyptian Media Group. However, the decision to shut down DRN radio station reinforces speculations about this.
Suspicions are being raised about links between Falcon Group and the military intelligence service, as Falcon Group Chairman, Sherif Khaled, is a former military intelligence officer. He heads both Falcon Group and Home Media board of directors.
Falcon Group also sold Al Hayah channels to the Egyptian Media Group less than a year after it acquired the network, which was owned by El Sayed El Badawi, the former head of the Wafd Party.
In 2017, Home Media acquired Al Asema 1 and 2 TV channels owned by Egyptian MP Saad Hassassin.
