Nile Radio Company
Nile Radio Company is a public company owned by the National Media Authority (NMA). As such, the NMA appointed Mohamed Nawar as the Chairman of the company early 2018. The former Vice President of the Egyptian Radio, Nawar served as a radio reporter in a number of ministries including the Ministry of Interior, and also the presidency. He was also selected to serve as a media advisor to the Council of Arab Interior Ministers. Nile Radio Company was established in 2015 by Decree No. 562 of 2015, issued by the Prime Minister at the time, Ibrahim Mahleb. The company's capital was 5 million EGP (about 280,000 USD). It owns Mega FM, Nagham FM, Shabee FM and Radio Hits. According to an expert interviewed by the MOM team, Nile Radio company was established by funds from the Egyptian General Intelligence Service.
In 2018, the Egyptian Media Group announced that it undertook the management the Nile Radio Network. Therefore, Nile Radio Company is now managed by the Egyptian Media Group.
