Nile News was launched in 1998 as a public channel offering free news content in politics, economy, sports, as well as talk shows. It initially belang to the Nile TV network of the Radio and Television Union (currently the National Media Authority), and law later administratively transferred to the Egyptian News Center of the National Media Authority.
