Radio Masr
Radio Masr was launched in 2009 as the first governmental radio station in Egypt to be transmitted on FM. It is primarily a news station that broadcasts Arabic songs and entertainment programs as well.
While the State owns Radio Masr, its management is not clearly established. In a statement, the former head of the radio pointed that there is a company owning Radio Masr, with no further information. News reports indicate that the news department of the National Egyptian Television is supervising Radio Masr. The National Media Authority appointed the director of Radio Masr, Mohamed Youssef, in 2017. He was previously the Director of Cultural Programs Department at Al Sharq Al Awsat Station.
