Reda Edward

Reda Edward is an Egyptian businessman and politician. His name has emerged in the political life when he bought Al Dostor in 2010. Reda Edward was then a member of the Supreme Committee of the Wafd Party. A prominent businessman in the field of education and the management of international schools, he was the Chairman of Al Dostor until 2017. Observers state Edward bought in Al Dostor newspaper to the desire of the Mubarak regime to silence the opposition journalist Ibrahim Issa, who was the editor-in-chief of the newspaper until Edward became the Chairman.

At the beginning of January 2017, Reda Edward announced its sale to a group of businessmen and a prominent media figure, and appointed Mohammed Al-Baz to the board of directors and edition of the newspaper. However, the names of the new owners of Al Dostor for Press, Publishing and Distribution and the value of the deal were not disclosed.
