Tamer Morsi

Tamer Morsi is an Egyptian businessman and media producer. He has been the Chairman of The Egyptian Media Group (EMG) since February 2018.

Tamer Morsi founded Synergy Production and sold 50% of this production company to EMG in 2016. EMG is owned by Eagle Capital that is owned by the General Intelligence. Eagle Capital appointed Morsi as the Chairman of EMG, reflecting the good relations existing between Morsi and al-Sisi's regime.

Media report that Morsi is trying to reduce the production of drama series for the upcoming Ramadan drama season (June 2019) to favour his own production. Producers of the TV channels owned by the EMG have been informed that the company had limited budget and will buy what Synergy Productions will produce.
